Adaptive Human Capital’s President & CEO, Richard (“Rick”) Maher will be presenting again this year at the Pennsylvania Workforce Development Association (PWDA) Conference on Wednesday, April 30th.
Maher will call on today’s workforce system leader to become a dealer in hope “Navigating the Storm: Leading with Hope and Vision in the “New Ab-Normal”will focus on helping workforce system professionals find a path forward in these incredibly disruptive times.
“When change feels overwhelming, fear and uncertainty can lead to workforce disengagement or even departures,” said Maher. “In today’s “New Ab-Normal,” leaders must navigate challenges like the pandemic’s aftermath, global crises, and political divides. We are going to do a deep dive into the role leaders need to play today to help workers stay focused on a more hopeful future vision in order to benefit the customer, but also to help staff avoid harmful stress and anxiety. The loss of hope is a process that begins with resistance and leads to apathy. Great leaders are called to address this crisis head on and we’re going to help them do just that – to help leaders to “meet this moment!”
The interactive workshop will explore the neuroscience of change to help participants better understand workforce responses to stress and uncertainty. Learners will gain actionable techniques to manage themselves and others to better Meet the Moment and will leave the session with new insights, skills and tools to apply in their workplaces to build improved workforce resiliency through uncertainty and change.
